The ASUS ROG Strix B850-F Gaming WiFi7 NEO is the refreshed mid-to-upper B850 board in ASUS's ROG Strix range for Socket AM5. Three things separate it from the rest of the range: 16+2+2 power stages rated to 80 amps each, a built-in clock generator that isolates the CPU base clock from the memory, PCIe and Infinity Fabric domains, and a 64MB BIOS chip. This page is based on published specifications from ASUS; we have not handled this board.
Check the model name before you buy. ASUS also sells a ROG Strix B850-F Gaming WiFi without the NEO suffix. They are not the same board, and the differences are not cosmetic: the clock generator, the wired network controller and the BIOS chip size all change. If the listing you are looking at does not say WiFi7 NEO, it is the other board.
AMD published bulletin AMD-SB-7064 on 11 August 2026. It covers two high-severity flaws in AMD's firmware TPM: CVE-2026-6726, an information-leakage flaw that lets a forged TPM key be certified as genuine, and CVE-2026-6727, a timing side-channel. AMD scores them 8.5 and 8.3 on CVSS 4.0. Affected processors run from Ryzen 3000 to Ryzen 9000, plus Threadripper, Ryzen AI and Ryzen Embedded parts. Both attacks need local privileged access, so neither is remotely exploitable. The underlying flaw is in the Trusted Computing Group's TPM 2.0 reference code, which AMD ships as fTPM.
The fix arrives as a motherboard BIOS update. Windows Update will not install it. Find this board in ASUS's Download Center, open Driver & Tools and then BIOS & Firmware, install the latest BIOS, then look for an fTPM or TPM security fix in the release notes. Coverage varies by board, and we have not verified that a fixed BIOS exists for this one.
Before you flash: if this machine uses BitLocker, save your recovery key first. A firmware update can trigger BitLocker recovery, and Windows will then ask for a 48-digit key before it unlocks the drive. Our BIOS update guide covers the safe order.

A full-size 12 x 9.6 inch ATX board, so it drops into any case rated for the standard.
What the graphics slot runs at depends on the processor, and ASUS publishes three different answers. With a Ryzen 9000 or 7000 Series processor it is PCIe 5.0 x16 in x16 mode. With a Ryzen 8700, 8600 or 8400 Series processor the same slot is PCIe 4.0 in x8 mode, and with a Ryzen 8500 or 8300 Series processor it drops to x4. Those lanes come from the CPU, which is why the board cannot change the answer. A second full-length slot is wired to the chipset and runs PCIe 4.0 at x4.
Storage is four M.2 slots and two SATA 6Gb/s ports. Two of the M.2 slots are PCIe 5.0 x4 and two are PCIe 4.0 x4. Three of the four take 2280 drives; the first and the fourth also accept the shorter 2242 and 2260 lengths. Two SATA ports is the number to check against your own build — it is half what the ROG Strix B850-E Gaming WiFi provides, and an optical drive plus two mechanical disks will not fit.
ASUS specifies 16+2+2 power stages, each rated to 80 amps. That matches the largest VRM array in the ASUS B850 boards we cover and is sized for the top of the Ryzen 9000 range, including sustained all-core workloads.
The board also carries a clock generator that separates the CPU base clock from the memory, PCIe and Infinity Fabric domains. ASUS's stated purpose is BCLK overclocking of the processor without dragging those other domains out of specification with it. Memory is specified to DDR5-9000+ MT/s when overclocked, across four DIMM slots to a maximum of 256GB.
Wired networking is a Realtek 5 Gigabit Ethernet controller, which is a step above what boards at this tier usually carry. Wireless is Wi-Fi 7 on a MediaTek MT7925 module, with Bluetooth 5.4 and LE Audio support.
The back panel carries 12 USB ports: four at 10Gbps (two Type-A and two Type-C), six at 5Gbps (five Type-A and one Type-C) and two USB 2.0 Type-A. There is no 40Gbps port here — if you need one on B850, that is the ROG Strix B850-E Gaming WiFi. Also on the rear are one HDMI output, the Wi-Fi module, the network port, an optical S/PDIF output, a BIOS FlashBack button and a Clear CMOS button. Audio is the ROG SupremeFX implementation of the Realtek ALC4080 codec, but note the rear panel exposes only two analogue audio jacks, so a multi-channel analogue speaker set needs the front-panel header or a different board.
Builders who want the strongest B850 power delivery ASUS ships, faster wired networking than the tier normally provides, and the BCLK isolation the clock generator adds — and whose storage plan is NVMe-first, because two SATA ports is the real constraint here.
