The ASUS ROG Strix B850-I Gaming WiFi packs the B850 chipset into a 17 x 17 cm Mini-ITX board for small-form-factor Ryzen 9000, 8000 and 7000 builds. The compromises are in slot and port count rather than in power delivery. This page is based on published specifications from ASUS; we have not handled this board.
AMD published bulletin AMD-SB-7064 on 11 August 2026. It covers two high-severity flaws in AMD's firmware TPM: CVE-2026-6726, an information-leakage flaw that lets a forged TPM key be certified as genuine, and CVE-2026-6727, a timing side-channel. AMD scores them 8.5 and 8.3 on CVSS 4.0. Affected processors run from Ryzen 3000 to Ryzen 9000, plus Threadripper, Ryzen AI and Ryzen Embedded parts. Both attacks need local privileged access, so neither is remotely exploitable. The underlying flaw is in the Trusted Computing Group's TPM 2.0 reference code, which AMD ships as fTPM.
The fix arrives as a motherboard BIOS update. Windows Update will not install it. Check ASUS's security advisories and this board's own support page, install the latest BIOS, then look for an fTPM or TPM security fix in the release notes. Coverage varies by board, and we have not verified that a fixed BIOS exists for this one.
Before you flash: if this machine uses BitLocker, save your recovery key first. A firmware update can trigger BitLocker recovery, and Windows will then ask for a 48-digit key before it unlocks the drive. Our BIOS update guide covers the safe order.

This is a 17 x 17 cm Mini-ITX board, so every choice is a space trade. Memory drops to two DIMM slots with a 128GB ceiling — half the capacity of the ATX boards in this range, though still far more than a gaming system needs.
The single expansion slot is PCIe 5.0 x16 with a Ryzen 9000 or 7000 Series processor. With a Ryzen 8000 Series processor it runs at PCIe 4.0 instead, since the lanes come from the CPU rather than the chipset.
Storage is two M.2 slots. Both run at PCIe 5.0 x4 with a Ryzen 9000 or 7000 Series processor, and both drop to PCIe 4.0 x4 with a Ryzen 8000 Series processor — this is the only board of the four covered here where the second M.2 slot is not fixed at PCIe 4.0. There are two SATA 6Gb/s ports.
ASUS specifies 10+2+1 power stages. That is the smallest array of the four ASUS B850 boards covered here, which is expected on Mini-ITX, but it is still sized for the Ryzen 9000 range rather than being a budget compromise.
Wireless is Wi-Fi 7 with Bluetooth 5.4, and wired networking uses an Intel 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet controller rather than the Realtek part used on the TUF boards in this range. Audio is the ROG SupremeFX implementation of the Realtek ALC4080 codec.
The back panel carries 8 USB ports: one 20Gbps Type-C, five 10Gbps ports made up of four Type-A and one Type-C, and two USB 2.0. One of the Type-C ports supports DisplayPort Alt Mode. There is no 40Gbps Type-C connector on this board.
Small-form-factor builders who want a Ryzen 9000 system in an ITX case and can live with two memory slots, two drives on M.2 and two on SATA. If you need more storage or more expansion, one of the ATX boards in this range is the better buy.
