The ASUS TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi is a mainstream ATX board for Socket AM5, aimed at Ryzen 9000, 8000 and 7000 builds that want a full-size layout without paying for a flagship chipset. It pairs 14+2+1 power stages with three M.2 slots, four DIMM slots and Wi-Fi 7. This page is based on published specifications from ASUS; we have not handled this board.
AMD published bulletin AMD-SB-7064 on 11 August 2026. It covers two high-severity flaws in AMD's firmware TPM: CVE-2026-6726, an information-leakage flaw that lets a forged TPM key be certified as genuine, and CVE-2026-6727, a timing side-channel. AMD scores them 8.5 and 8.3 on CVSS 4.0. Affected processors run from Ryzen 3000 to Ryzen 9000, plus Threadripper, Ryzen AI and Ryzen Embedded parts. Both attacks need local privileged access, so neither is remotely exploitable. The underlying flaw is in the Trusted Computing Group's TPM 2.0 reference code, which AMD ships as fTPM.
The fix arrives as a motherboard BIOS update. Windows Update will not install it. Check ASUS's security advisories and this board's own support page, install the latest BIOS, then look for an fTPM or TPM security fix in the release notes. Coverage varies by board, and we have not verified that a fixed BIOS exists for this one.
Before you flash: if this machine uses BitLocker, save your recovery key first. A firmware update can trigger BitLocker recovery, and Windows will then ask for a 48-digit key before it unlocks the drive. Our BIOS update guide covers the safe order.

This is a full 12 x 9.6 inch ATX board, so it fits any standard mid-tower without the header crowding that mATX layouts force. ASUS fits VRM heatsinks and M.2 heatsinks as standard, and the primary PCIe slot uses a lever-released latch that makes removing a long graphics card easier.
The graphics slot on this board is PCIe 5.0 x16 with a Ryzen 9000 or 7000 Series processor. Fit a Ryzen 8000 Series chip and the same slot drops to PCIe 4.0 running in x8/x4 mode, because the lane budget comes from the CPU rather than the chipset. The second full-length slot is fed by the chipset and runs at x4 regardless of CPU.
Storage is three M.2 slots. Only the first is PCIe 5.0 x4, and only with a Ryzen 9000 or 7000 Series processor; the remaining two are PCIe 4.0 x4. Four SATA 6Gb/s ports cover older drives.
ASUS specifies 14+2+1 power stages rated at 80A each. That is generous for the tier and leaves headroom for the top Ryzen 9000 parts, including the X3D models that mainstream buyers most often pair with a board at this level.
Wireless is Wi-Fi 7 with Bluetooth 5.4, and wired networking is a Realtek 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet controller. The back panel carries 10 USB ports: one 20Gbps Type-C, three 10Gbps Type-A, four 5Gbps Type-A and two USB 2.0. Audio is handled by the Realtek ALC1220P codec.
One detail worth checking against your case before you buy: USB4 on this board is provided as an internal header for a front-panel connector, not as a port you can plug into on the back panel. If you need 40Gbps Type-C without adding hardware, look at a board that exposes it directly.
