The ASUS TUF Gaming B850-PRO WIFI7 W NEO is a full-size ATX board for Socket AM5, aimed at Ryzen 9000, 8000 and 7000 builds that want a mainstream chipset with current wireless. It pairs 14+2+1 power stages with 3x M.2 slots, four DIMM slots and Wi-Fi 7, and the W in the model name is the white colourway rather than a change to the specification. This page is based on published specifications from ASUS; we have not handled this board.
Check the whole model string before you buy. ASUS uses the NEO suffix across eight AM5 boards, and it does not stand for one network specification: the ROG Strix Neos carry 5 Gigabit Ethernet, and this one carries 2.5 Gigabit. AMD published bulletin AMD-SB-7064 on 11 August 2026. It covers two high-severity flaws in AMD's firmware TPM: CVE-2026-6726, an information-leakage flaw that lets a forged TPM key be certified as genuine, and CVE-2026-6727, a timing side-channel. AMD scores them 8.5 and 8.3 on CVSS 4.0. Affected processors run from Ryzen 3000 to Ryzen 9000, plus Threadripper, Ryzen AI and Ryzen Embedded parts. Both attacks need local privileged access, so neither is remotely exploitable. The underlying flaw is in the Trusted Computing Group's TPM 2.0 reference code, which AMD ships as fTPM.
The fix arrives as a motherboard BIOS update. Windows Update will not install it. Find this board in ASUS's Download Center, open Driver & Tools and then BIOS & Firmware, install the latest BIOS, then look for an fTPM or TPM security fix in the release notes. Coverage varies by board, and we have not verified that a fixed BIOS exists for this one.
Before you flash: if this machine uses BitLocker, save your recovery key first. A firmware update can trigger BitLocker recovery, and Windows will then ask for a 48-digit key before it unlocks the drive. Our BIOS update guide covers the safe order.

A full 12 x 9.6 inch ATX board, so it drops into any case rated for the standard without the header crowding a smaller layout forces. ASUS fits its M.2 Q-Latch and M.2 Q-Release tool-free retention here, and a PCIe Slot Q-Release for the graphics card.
What the graphics slot runs at depends on the processor. With a Ryzen 9000 or 7000 Series chip it is PCIe 5.0 x16 in x16 mode; fit a Ryzen 8000 Series chip and the same slot becomes PCIe 4.0 in x8/x4 mode, because those lanes come from the CPU rather than the board. A second full-length slot is fed by the B850 chipset and runs PCIe 4.0 at x4, and there are two PCIe 4.0 x1 slots alongside them.
Storage is 3x M.2 slots and four SATA 6Gb/s ports. Only the first M.2 slot is PCIe 5.0 x4, and only with a Ryzen 9000 or 7000 Series processor; the other two are PCIe 4.0 x4. The second slot is the flexible one, taking 2242, 2260, 2280 and 22110 drives where the other two take 2280 only. One sharing rule is worth knowing before you plan the build: ASUS documents that the third M.2 slot shares bandwidth with the chipset-fed full-length slot, and that with both occupied each drops to PCIe 4.0 x2.
ASUS specifies 14(80A)+2(80A)+1(80A) power stages, which we record as 14+2+1. That is the same array the TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi carries and is generous for the tier, leaving headroom for the top of the Ryzen 9000 range including the X3D parts mainstream buyers most often pair with a board at this level. The power design is ASUS's DIGI+ VRM with DrMOS.
Memory is four DIMM slots to a maximum of 256GB of DDR5, with EXPO and ASUS's own AEMP profiles, and ASUS lists both ECC and non-ECC unbuffered modules as supported. Rated overclocked speeds vary by processor generation, topping out at DDR5-9000+ MT/s with Ryzen 8000 Series chips and DDR5-8400+ MT/s with Ryzen 9000 Series.
Wired networking is a Realtek 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet controller — not the 5 Gigabit port the ROG Strix Neo boards get. Wireless is 2x2 Wi-Fi 7 on a Realtek RTL8922AE module, with Bluetooth 5.4 and LE Audio.
The back panel carries 10 USB ports: four at 10Gbps (two Type-A and two Type-C), four at 5Gbps Type-A and two USB 2.0 Type-A. Alongside them are a DisplayPort output, an HDMI output, the Wi-Fi module, the network port, three analogue audio jacks, a BIOS FlashBack button and a Clear CMOS button. Audio is the Realtek ALC1220P codec, a 7.1-channel HD Audio part.
USB4 on this board is an internal Thunderbolt header rather than a port on the back panel, so a 40Gbps Type-C connection needs a case or front-panel module that can take it. The other internal USB provision is a 20Gbps Type-C connector, one 5Gbps header worth two more ports, and three USB 2.0 headers worth six. Firmware sits on a 64MB flash ROM.
Builders putting together a Ryzen 9000 gaming or workstation system who want a full ATX layout, strong power delivery and Wi-Fi 7, and whose network runs at gigabit or 2.5 Gigabit anyway. If the wired port is the thing you are paying for, the 5 Gigabit Neo boards are the ones to look at instead.
